Below are copies of emails and letters that we have received over the past 5 years.
Mark, Please thank Steve and Terresa for making our journey out to sea with our mother so special. As I'm sure you can imagine, it is difficult as daughters to say goodbye to your mother. However, Steve and Terresa made it perfect for us. They were so kind and helpful. I've attached a picture Terresa took of a butterfly that decided to join us as we were saying goodbye to our mom. We all saw it and all found it meaningful. Terresa said it was a special moment. She was taking pictures and hoped that she got the butterfly in it, and sure enough, she did. Please make sure Terresa gets this picture or has an opportunity to see it. Also, we had some dolphins join us on the way in which sure did cheer us up. Once again, Terresa got a perfect picture for us. She's awesome! Thanks again,

Dear Captain Mark,
Just wanted to thank you for such a pleasant burial at sea for my parents on June 9, 2010. It was truly a beautiful experience and one I shall never forget. Even though you were not there, Captain Steve and your wife were absolutely fabulous and very friendly and helpful. We received the paperwork and will cherish it forever......thank you again. You have a fabulous service so keep up the good work and I shall recommend you when needed.

Hello Captain Mark and Fabulous First Mate Terresa, Thank you for making our Sea Burial such a pleasant experience. You made us feel relaxed and comfortable from the moment we stepped aboard. We really did not know what to expect, however the two of you surpassed our every expectation. We were so impressed with your compassion, your caring and your somehow knowing what to do, or what to say, or what song to play, or even when to turn the music off at all the right times. You are a wonderful couple and it is easy to tell you love what you get to do everyday. Like the Life is Good quote: "Do what you like; like what you do."

I would like to share with anyone trying to decide whether to use the burial at sea services offered by Peace at Sea, that you have chosen the best service available. I live in Naples Florida and found out about Peace at Sea's services from my Funeral Director. From the moment I stepped on the boat, I knew that this would be a wonderful experience. The boat was so very clean and pristine it must be brand new and it is very obvious that this type of private charter is the only thing this boat is used for. Captain Mark and first mate Terresa went beyond my every expectation as well. Mark drove the boat perfectly and seemed to play all the right songs at all the right times, while Terresa attended to us and was very friendly while also being observant of our wishes for quiet contemplation of the task at hand. On the cruise back to harbor, Terresa was kind enough to point out a pod of dolphins which then began swimming and jumping behind the boat. That was so magical it put tears in all of our eyes. What a wonderful service Captain Mark and First Mate Terresa offer here on the Gulf of Mexico. There were plenty of hugs, kisses and tears as we left Mark and Terresa to head back home.

Captain Hatty, "We now know that Grandaddy is where he always wanted to be. Thanks for making our trip out with you as enjoyable as possible under the circumstances. We can't seem to stop thinking and dreaming of another trip to Florida and (under different circumstances) taking an exciting water adventure with you both. Thank you for being so good with our 2 boys and making it enjoyable for them. We enjoyed your selection of songs you played during the trip and we do not know how to find them. Is there any way you could email us the play list if it is not to much trouble? We would also like to send a picture of the boys with Captain Hatty driving. Thank you for everything.

It took 3 years for us to let go of John's remains and we were a bit tentative about putting them into the mail.
